HIGH FREQUENCY AND HIGH SPEED LAMINATES
Foiled PTFE dielectrics are used as base for high frequency printed boards, and also as electric insulation intended for printed parts of transmitting and receiving equipment. Foiled PTFE dielectrics could work in temperature range from -60°C to +250°C.
As printed board dielectric getinaks, epoxy glass cloth laminate, and also metallic base covered with dielectric. Most often reinforced glass fabric is used to make dielectrics.

Method of FAF-4D sheet production:
FAF-4D PTFE foiled reinforced sheets are made by pressing glass fabric layers and two-sided lining with copper galvano-resistant electrolytic foil, thickness 0,035 mm or 0,05 mm.
Metallization of openings in FAF-4D sheets is made by direct or chemical-galvanic metallization, including holding in naphthalene-sodium solution. Openings for metallization may be obtained by drilling or milling using drilling and milling machines.
FAF-4D PROPERTIES:
- high mechanical strength;
- high radiation resistance;
- long-term stability of parameters in wide temperature and frequency range;
- minimal dependence of parameters from changes in the environment.
Camber depends on thickness of foiled PTFE dielectric. Maximal camber in mm depending on thickness of PTFE-4 foiled dielectric is given in table below:

Foil surface on sheets smooth, without blisters and wrinkles. Permitted are annealing colors and two-tone appearing under temperature influences, pitted surface, scratch marks and other small defects not breaching foil integrity. Foil peeling and absence on sheet perimeter is permitted at distance from edge not exceeding 5% of adjacent side length. |
