PA-6 sleeves (PA-6, Nylon)
You may order PA_6 sleeves with outer diameter from 100 to 580 mm and external diameter from 45 to 480 mm.
PA-6 (Nylon) sleeves are characterized by wear resistance and strength against low friction coefficient against metals. As PA-6 sleeves interact better than metal and alloy parts with mating parts in friction units, they are often used instead of metallic parts, including those made of bronze. Cost of PA-6 sleeve is also lower than that of bronze alternative, and strength and reliability of the product is several times higher.
Other advantages of PA-6 sleeves — outdoor resistance, antifrictionality, environment friendliness, small specific weight, and also possibility to use sleeves at low and high temperatures.
Production technology
The sleeves are made in the mold in the form of a cylinder with additional cylindrical insert. The product is obtained by anionic polymerization of caprolactam, then the obtained blank is trimmed.
Special attention should be paid to production technology as PA-6 is an elastic material and shrinks to a certain extent. When thickness exceeds 100 mm, high molecular internal stress appears. That is why before making a sleeve PA-6 should be thermally treated to avoid sleeve shearing or material cracking. It is only possible to relieve stress according to strictly regulated processes. To obtain good sleeve sliding during insertion it is additionally cooled by liquid nitrogen or dry ice in domestic refrigerator. Knowledge of production process particulars permits to make quality product with the necessary size.
Kinds of PA-6 sleeves:
- unfilled;
- graphite-filled;
- filled with special oil with molybdenum content.
