POLYURETHANE
A team of experienced managers and technology engineers will assist You in selecting polyurethane of a grade suitable for production of seals, cuffs and linings with respect to conditions of usage in Your production activity.
Polymer Company produces and supplies sheets, sleeves and rods from polyurethane grades SKU PFL-100, SKU 7L, suitable for production of parts working under high temperatures and in aggressive media. They are analogues to vulcolan, adipren, vulcopren grades, and other.
Polyurethanes are rubberlike material, used in all industries; agriculture to substitute rubbers, metals, traditional plastics. Polyurethane degree of hardness is determined per Shore scale and may vary from 40 to 98 units. In the first case (from 40 units) polyurethane will have increased softness and elasticity, and in second case (98 units) we obtain iron-hard material. Meanwhile, wear resistance of polyurethane does not change.
Polyurethane products perfectly bear action of extreme atmospheric changes, they are impact resistant, durable in industrial usage, and possess properties inaccessible for ordinary rubbers.
Polyurethane properties:
- elasticity (tensile strength at break is 2 times greater than that of a rubber);
- low abrasion (conditional wear resistance is 3 times greater than that of a rubber);
- high strength (surpasses rubber strength by 2,5 times);
- high resistance to tear and repeated deformations;
- possibility to work under high pressure (up to 105 MPa);
- acid resistance and resistance to many thinners;
- increased hardness (up to 98 Shore units);
- temperature range from -50°С to +80°С (by injecting special additives upper operating temperature limit may be increased to +120°С);
- resistance to microorganisms and mold;
- vibration resistance and oil-and-petrol resistance;
- elasticity at low temperatures;
- high dielectric properties;
- ozone resistance;
- water resistance.
APPLICATION OF POLYURETHANE.
Polyurethanes are widely used to make gaskets and seals of most varied purpose. Seals may be static, reciprocal or rotary: they may be used in pneumatic or hydraulic systems or as simple scraper seals for flat surfaces or shafts.
Economic advantages of using polyurethanes as seals material are determined by increased wearability and low friction coefficient. In mining or quarrying polyurethane is widely used instead of ordinary rubber or even hard steel. This is determined by transportation of abrasive sludges consisting of relatively small particles, for example, in ball and rod mills, flotation installations, hydrocyclones and pipelines.
Most frequently ball and rod mills have used replaceable lining from manganese steel, but in last years they use polyurethane. Depending on operation conditions, for example, rubber lining may serve much longer than that of manganese steel, and polyurethane lining serves even longer than rubber lining. An additional advantage — polyurethane requires less mechanical processing, and harder grades may serve as structural material without metal reinforcing.
Except blocks, polyurethane sheets of different thickness are in great demand. Polyurethanes replaced rubber and metal in a number of parts used in modern cars, and here main advantages which attracted designers are high resistance of polyurethanes to wear and abrasion combined with oil and fuel resistance. Great role played also two other factors: lower price of polyurethane part (in certain cases) and reduction of vibration-induced noise.
Wear resistance of molding elastomers determines their application by our customers in mining and construction industries in the form of various ready products (sheets, rods, balls and exact size parts – screens for screeners, shocks absorbers, sleeves, inserts, grips, hydrocyclones), and in the form of wear resistant polyurethane coatings at any products which we fettle. Also we fettle steel pipes, mills, drums, screeners, shafts, bins, chutes, rollers and surfaces for all industrial applications.
